Stormy Seas

I painted these two stormy beach scenes from some vacation photos of Sunset Beach.  The one with the pier was my first attempt ever at doing an ocean scene.  I enjoyed painting the ocean so much that my next painting was the one with the sea gulls.

The Red Barn

This is my husband's favorite painting that I have done so far.  It took me several days to paint this one because I kept changing my mind on the layout.

The Mighty Oak in a Field of Poppies

Block Island

This painting was done from a summer vacation photo.  It is the view looking out to sea from North Island Light House on Block Island in Rhode Island.

Dandelions

Here is another painting of dandelions.

The Coming Fall

This landscape was really quite challenging.  The water gave me a bit of trouble, but I am really pleased with the end results.

Floating Away

I am really on a dandelion kick right now so I painted another one.  I think that I might make this picture a threesome--I think it would look good with a cream background and a brown flower and then a brown background and a teal flower.  I think it would make a nice set.  But, for now it is just a single.

Black Bird

I love this picture but wish I had done it on a much larger scale.  I might paint a similar version but much bigger.

Life Cycle of a Dandelion

I REALLY like this painting.  I was inspired by a pillow case that my sister embroidered. You can check it out at www.bethwhitcomb.etsy.com  I loved the pillow and thought that it would make a beautiful painting as well.

Lonely Tree

I painted this picture in about 30 minutes.  It is very small--only 7 x 14.  It is not in my normal painting "box", and I wanted to try something a little different with it.  To me, this painting seems kind of dark or maybe even a little creepy.

Green Daisy

I painted this picture to match my sister's dishes.

Sunflower Fields

This is the first painting that I have done in years.  I started to get the urge to pick up my paintbrushes again when I kept hearing one of my friends tell about her painting projects.  You can check out her blog-- hilarypaints!  Anyway, I find painting to be very relaxing and really enjoyed this painting.
